Woman dead after an auto-pedestrian crash in Scott (Scott, LA)

On early Wednesday morning, a woman lost her life following a crash in Scott.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place near the intersection of the 6900 block of Cameron Street and Andres Road going towards Scott at about 2:50 am. The female pedestrian reportedly have been bent over in the roadway facing east.

While the pedestrian was in the roadway, a pickup heading east on US 90 hit the woman near the centerline. She was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Impairment on her part is not known at this time, but a standard toxicology sample was obtained for analysis.

The driver of the pickup was not believed to be impaired at the time of the accident, but voluntarily submitted a blood sample for analysis. The driver incurred only minimal injuries. The part of Cameron Street was shut down for almost two hours. No further details were provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
