A woman lost her life after being hit by a vehicle while walking on I-10 East.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place on Interstate 10 East near I-510 South shortly before 8 p.m. The preliminary investigation showed that the woman was walking on I-10 when she got struck by a car.
The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. All lanes on Interstate 10E were shut down at the Bullard Avenue exit as of 9 p.m. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No further details were provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
