On Friday night, a woman lost her life after possibly being hit by a vehicle near Wadsworth.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to a rest area outside of Wadsworth shortly after 9:00 p.m. on reports of an auto-pedestrian crash. On arrival, responders found a woman dead on the roadway.
The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. Westbound lanes were shut down on Interstate 80 just past Wadsworth around exit 43 as crews worked at the scene. Officers said that the closure will last several hours. No other details are made available.
