Woman dead after an auto-pedestrian collision in Chula Vista (Chula Vista, CA)

On Thursday night, a woman lost her life after being struck by a vehicle in Chula Vista.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 9:05 p.m. at H Street and Minot Avenue, between First and Second avenues. Several people called emergency dispatchers to inform that a woman was in the westbound lanes on H Street blocking traffic. While one of the callers was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher, the woman was hit by a vehicle.

She sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. Medics rushed her to a hospital, where she died less than an hour after the incident. The driver immediately pulled over and cooperated with the officers. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

An investigation is underway.
