On Thursday morning, a woman lost her life and three men received injuries following a two-vehicle accident in Southfield.
As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place at approximately 12:25 a.m. in the area of 8 Mile and Southfield roads. The early reports showed that the Detroit police officers tried to stop a Jeep Cherokee going at a “high rate of speed”. The driver of the Jeep failed to stop and continued driving at a fast speed, potentially ignoring a red light at that intersection.
The Jeep then slammed into a Ford Edge driven by a woman. The woman died of her injuries as a result of the collision. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. Three men were riding in the Jeep and were transported to the hospital with non-fatal injuries. No other details are made available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
