On Tuesday afternoon, a woman lost her life while another person suffered injuries following a crash between a vehicle and a tractor-trailer in San Leandro.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle collision took place at 4:10 p.m. in the area of Eden Road and Doolittle Drive just east of the Oakland International Airport. On arrival, responders found the driver of the car unresponsive. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
A passenger in her car was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. According to the officials, speed played a role in the accident. The driver of the big rig remained unharmed and stayed at the scene to cooperate with the authorities. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
