Two women lost their lives and two people were arrested after a three-vehicle wreck early Saturday morning in Sunnyvale.
As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian accident took place at about 2:45 a.m. on Highway 101 near Mathilda Avenue. According to the authorities, a Jeep and a Prius crashed, causing the scene. After the collision, two women from the Prius got out onto the freeway when a vehicle struck those women. Both women died as a result of the crash.
The identities of the victims have not been released. The drivers of the Jeep and the Prius were taken into custody for DUI, while the third driver is not facing any charges. No other details are available.
The accident remains under investigation.
