A crash involving two northbound vehicles on Interstate 55 in Scott County left one person injured, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol says the crash occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. on July 9, 2026, near mile marker 73.4 on I-55 northbound. A 2017 Nissan Titan and a 2006 GMC Sierra, both traveling northbound, were involved in the collision.

A 56-year-old woman from Cape Girardeau, who was driving one of the vehicles, sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash, the patrol reported.

Light drizzle was falling in the area at the time, according to weather data.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Troop E is handling the investigation into the crash.
