A crash involving two commercial trucks on Interstate 44 east of Joplin left one driver with minor injuries late Thursday night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The collision happened around 10:20 p.m. on September 24, roughly one mile east of Joplin in Jasper County, per a preliminary crash report from the Patrol's Troop D. Both vehicles involved — a 2020 Freightliner M2 and a 2024 International LT62F — were traveling westbound on I-44 at the time, the report states.
The driver of one of the trucks, a 48-year-old man from Hollywood, Florida, sustained minor injuries in the crash, according to the Highway Patrol. He was transported to a hospital for treatment, officials said.
No other injuries were reported, and the crash did not result in any fatalities. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision.
