Two people hospitalized after a traffic collision on Hilltop Drive (Chula Vista, CA)

Two people received injuries following a traffic collision Thursday on Hilltop Drive.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the area near East H Street after getting reports of a reckless driver at around 9:50 a.m. Police later located a northbound driver on Third Avenue who was going through red lights.

The officer tried to pull him over, but the suspect drove off. Later, officers found out that the suspect vehicle was involved in a wreck at H Street and Hilltop Drive intersection. The suspect’s vehicle crashed into another vehicle.

The other vehicle’s driver and his mother were both transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries. The suspect driver that was being chased was also injured in the collision. Troopers assisted him out of his damaged vehicle because the door was stuck.

He was then taken to a hospital in unknown condition. It is unclear if the suspect will be arrested after his release from the hospital. No other information is available.

The incident remains under review.
