Two passengers seriously injured after a vehicle slammed into Taco Surf restaurant (Seal Beach, CA)

Two passengers received serious injuries after a vehicle slammed into a restaurant early Sunday morning in Seal Beach while officials arrested 22-year-old Ted Lorenzo Ramirez, of Norwalk, on suspicion of felony DUI.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the area at 16281 Pacific Coast Highway after getting reports of a single-vehicle accident at 1:12 a.m. Sunday. On arrival, they found three men in a vehicle that had smashed into the Taco Surf restaurant.

Both passengers were taken to local hospitals. One had bone fractures and other non-life-threatening injuries; the other had major head trauma and fractures and is listed in critical condition.

Police detained the driver, 22-year-old Ted Lorenzo Ramirez. He was later booked at the Orange County Jail and has since been released. No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the accident. No other information is available.

The incident remains under investigation.
