Two men hospitalized after a hit-and-run accident in San Antonio (San Antonio, TX)

Two men were hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night in San Antonio.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run accident took place at about 12:16 a.m., Saturday, in the 600 block of S. San Eduardo. The preliminary reports showed that two men were lighting fireworks in the road when a Toyota Sequoia that was traveling northbound hit them. The Toyota continued heading northbound, away from the scene after the accident.

One of the men received serious injuries, and the other incurred minor injuries. Both were transported by EMS to University Hospital for further treatment. The Toyota was later found a block away from the incident, but the driver is still at large. When arrested, police mentioned that the driver will be charged with failure to stop and render aid-SBI and failure to stop and render aid-moving. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
