Two men hospitalized after a crash involving 2 motorcycles and a deer in Ionia County (Otisco Township, MI)

Two motorcyclists were hospitalized after an accident in Ionia County, involving a deer.

As per the initial information, the incident took place at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday on Belding Road/M-44, just west of Bartonville Road in Otisco Township, located about 16 miles southeast of Rockford. The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office stated that they initially received reports of crash involving a motorcycle and a deer. However, when officers arrived at the scene, they found out that a second motorcycle was also involved in the collision.

The reports further revealed that both motorcyclists sustained “significant injuries” in the crash. One of them, a 28-year-old Belding man, was airlifted to a Grand Rapids hospital via Aero Med while the second motorcyclist, an 18-year-old Orleans man, was transported to the same hospital through an ambulance. No other details are available.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under review.
