Two men were injured Monday morning when a trash truck they were riding in crashed on Missouri Route 13 about five miles north of Springfield, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The Patrol said the single vehicle involved was an Isuzu trash truck traveling northbound at the time of the crash, which occurred at approximately 9:25 a.m. in Greene County. Troop D of the Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
The driver, a 58-year-old man from Springfield, sustained moderate injuries, as did a 22-year-old male occupant, also from Springfield, the Patrol reported. Both were transported for medical treatment following the crash.
No fatalities were reported in connection with the incident, which remains under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Additional details regarding the circumstances of the crash have not yet been released.
