Two people were seriously injured Thursday evening when a car ran off US 160 near Walnut Shade, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 8:21 p.m. on US 160, about one mile west of Walnut Shade in Taney County, the Patrol said. A 2001 Ford Escort was traveling west at the time of the crash, per the Patrol's online crash report.

The driver, a 20-year-old woman from Crane, sustained serious injuries and was taken for medical treatment, the Patrol reported. A juvenile occupant of the vehicle also suffered serious injuries and was transported for treatment, according to the report.

Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to and is investigating the single-vehicle crash. No other vehicles were reported involved.
