Two men were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on South Farm Road 197, about 0.87 miles east of Springfield, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol's online crash report. The crash occurred on Aug. 5, 2026, at 5:01 p.m., the Patrol said.

A 2005 Toyota Scion was traveling eastbound when the crash occurred, according to the Patrol's report. The driver, an 84-year-old man from Bolivar, sustained serious injuries, as did an 81-year-old male passenger from Springfield. Both were transported for medical treatment, the Patrol reported.

Light drizzle was falling in the area at the time, according to weather data.

Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to and is investigating the crash, which is logged under incident number 260330639.
