Two drivers were taken to hospitals with minor injuries following a two-vehicle collision on Highway D at Highway J, about five miles east of Springfield, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol online crash report.

The crash involved a 2020 Ford Fusion traveling westbound and a 2010 Ford Explorer traveling eastbound, the patrol's preliminary report states.

A 22-year-old male driver from Springfield sustained minor injuries and was transported for medical treatment, according to the report. A 48-year-old female driver from Fordland was also injured and transported for treatment, the patrol said.

The crash occurred the evening of August 20, 2026, based on the reported time of the incident. It was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol's Troop D under incident number 260353132.

No fatalities were reported in connection with the crash.
