Two men were injured Thursday afternoon when a Buick Encore and a Ford Ranger collided on Missouri Route 76 about three miles east of Cape Fair, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash, logged by the Patrol as incident 260428196, happened around 2:05 p.m. in Stone County, within Troop D's jurisdiction. Investigators said a 2023 Buick Encore was traveling eastbound while a 2001 Ford Ranger was headed westbound when the two vehicles collided.

A 70-year-old man from Cape Fair, identified as the driver of one of the vehicles, suffered serious injuries and was transported for medical treatment, the Patrol reported. A 65-year-old man from Springfield, described as an occupant in the crash, sustained minor injuries and was also taken for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation into the two-vehicle crash. No fatalities were reported in connection with the incident.
