Two Californians killed in a crash near Fernley (Fernley, NV)

Two people died as a result of a fatal car crash in Fernley near the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said.

At around 6:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a call from Adrian Phoenix, the third rider of the vehicle, that he had been in the car involved in the deadly accident north of Fernley. Deputies searched and located the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office named the deceased as Fabian Phoenix, 30, of Baldwin Park, and Juanico Phoenix, 27, of Downey. Both the victims belonged from the state of California.

The North Lyon Fire protection District moved Adrian Phoenix to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office said that speed appeared to be a factor in the crash and it is also looking into a possible use of alcohol as a factor.
