Three people, including two juveniles, sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on westbound US-40 near Bellemere Road in Lake Tapawingo on July 4, 2026, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash, reported at 3:10 p.m., occurred east of Bellemere Road in Jackson County and involved a 2014 Cadillac SRX and a 2026 Volkswagen Atlas, both traveling westbound at the time, the Patrol said.

A 25-year-old female driver from Kansas City sustained minor injuries, the Patrol reported. Two juvenile occupants also suffered minor injuries; one of them was transported for medical treatment, according to the report.

Light rain was falling at the time of the crash, according to weather data.
