Teenage boy in critical condition after an auto-pedestrian crash in Spokane Valley (Spokane Valley, WA)

On Monday, a teenage boy suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Spokane Valley.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area near South University Road and 6th Avenue at about 3:20 a.m. after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian collision. A caller informed the officers that they heard loud voices and yelling between a man and woman.

When the caller went outside, he found a young man lying in the road near University and 6th. On arrival, responders found the teen unresponsive but breathing. It seemed that he was struck by a car. The teen was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim briefly regained consciousness on Tuesday and informed the officers that he was a minor.

The victim is still in the hospital in critical condition at this time. According to the reports, a dark-colored SUV might have been involved in the collision and was potentially seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Authorities are specifically interested in any suspicious cars and a dark-colored, full-size SUV. No further details were provided.
