One person was seriously injured Thursday morning after a single-vehicle crash on Missouri Highway 5 north of Harvest Road near Stover, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The Patrol said a 2010 Dodge Nitro was traveling southbound on Highway 5 when it suffered a tire blowout, causing the vehicle to skid off the roadway.

The sole occupant sustained serious injuries in the crash, authorities said. No other vehicles were involved.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation into the crash.
