A 29-year-old Springfield man suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash south of Brighton, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on MO 13, about two miles south of Brighton in Polk County, at approximately 5:09 p.m. on Aug. 12, 2026, the Patrol's online crash report states.
According to the Patrol, a 2009 Ford Escape was traveling southbound on MO 13 when the crash occurred. The driver, the vehicle's sole occupant, sustained serious injuries, authorities said.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Troop D, which covers the area, is handling the investigation, identified in agency records as crash incident 260341342.
