A 69-year-old Springfield man was seriously injured Wednesday morning when the bicycle he was riding was involved in a crash with a minivan on Elm Grove Road near Hedgpeth Road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:40 a.m. about two miles south of Rogersville in Christian County, per the Patrol's preliminary online crash report, which is logged under incident #260372332.

According to the report, a 2010 Honda Odyssey was traveling north on Elm Grove Road at the time the bicyclist was struck. The cyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to a medical facility for treatment, the Patrol said.
