Six people injured, including two children following a traffic accident on I-85 (Atlanta, GA)

A traffic accident on I-85 caused injuries to six people, including 2 children.

As per the initial information, authorities actively responded to the area of I-85 S, just south of GA 400, Sunday at 1 a.m. on reports of a crash with injuries. The preliminary reports showed that the incident took place just before midnight Saturday night during a traffic stop.

The reports further revealed that a car was being pulled over by the Atlanta Police and stopped in the left emergency lane. The APD officer then directed the motorist to move to the right shoulder. When they started moving to the right, the car was struck by an SUV from behind.

A 28-year-old woman received serious injuries as a result of the collision. The reports further stated that a total of six people had injuries, including four adults and two children. The interstate was closed down for quite some time overnight while authorities worked at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
