A crash on Interstate 44 just west of Springfield left one person with minor injuries early Friday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. on October 2, 2026, roughly one mile west of Springfield in Greene County, the Patrol's online crash report states. Troop D, which covers the area, is handling the investigation.

According to the Patrol, a single vehicle was involved — a 2024 Freightliner traveling eastbound on I-44. The occupant of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported for medical treatment, the report says.
