An approximately three-hour long SigAlert blocked the Sierra Highway off ramp and southbound 5 Freeway truck route in Santa Clarita after a semi-truck rolled down an embankment on Saturday morning.
As per the initial information, at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday, emergency crews got information that a semi-truck had overturned in the northbound truck lane of the Newhall Pass in Santa Clarita. Eyewitnesses saw seeing a red semi-truck going down an embankment.
Due to the impact of the crash, a concrete guardrail and additional debris were scattered across the lanes of The Old Road Truck Route which prompted the initial Sig Alert. The Sig Alert between Sierra Highway and the southbound 5 Freeway truck route ended at about 10 a.m. Saturday after CHP crews worked for over two hours to clean up the site. It is unclear if the crash caused any injuries.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
