On Wednesday, multiple people suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Santa Clarita.
As per the initial information, officials actively responded to the area of Sand Canyon Road and Little Tujunga Canyon Road, just north of the eastbound Santa Clarita Truck Trail at about 11:05 p.m. after getting reports of a two-vehicle crash. The early reports showed that the vehicle went off the side of the road about 200 feet.
On arrival, emergency responders freed the driver and passenger of a silver Hyundai Sonata, that went 200 feet down an embankment with major injuries, one with a possible partial amputation. One person was taken to the hospital by ambulance and the second victim was flown to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.
A rolled over silver Volkswagen was also found off the side of Sand Canyon Road, but no victims were immediately taken to the hospital. The cause of the crash remains unknown as of 1 a.m. Thursday. No further details were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
