Several people injured after a two-vehicle collision in Fresno (Fresno, CA)

On Monday afternoon, multiple people suffered injuries following a DUI crash in Fresno.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place at about 2:00 p.m. near S Greenwood and American Avenue. The early reports showed that a southbound GMC failed to yield at a stop sign and crashed into a jeep.

Due to the impact, three occupants of the GMC were ejected from the vehicle into the roadway. The jeep also hit and knocked down a phone pole during the crash. According to the emergency responders, a total of seven people needed to be taken to a hospital.

The victims included a 17-year-old female occupant of the GMC, who was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition. The Jeep driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence. No other details are made available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
