Several hospitalized after a crash involving a Beaumont ISD school bus (Beaumont, TX)

A dozen high school students and a bus driver were hospitalized after a crash Friday involving a Beaumont school bus.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place at about 3 p.m. in the 2800 block of North 10th Street and Delaware Street. The early reports showed that 16 students and a bus driver were on the bus at the time of the collision.

Four students were released to their parents, two students were taken to Baptist Hospital and 11 were shifted to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital, along with the driver of the bus. The reports further indicated that high school students from Beaumont United were on the bus at the time of the accident. The roadway was shut down in both directions to give way to the investigation. No other details are available.

The crash remains under investigation.
