Power outages reported after a car smashes into a transformer in Redmond (Redmond, WA)

A vehicle rammed into a transformer, causing significant power outages in Redmond.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place on Northeast 90th Street and 160th Avenue Northeast. The early reports showed that a vehicle crashed into a transformer for undetermined reasons. At this time, it is unknown if anyone suffered injuries as a result of the collision.

The incident led to major power outages and traffic backups in the area. Roads were not closed as a result of the crash. Officials said that traffic lights are affected by the outage and motorists were asked to make a complete stop at dark intersections. No other details are made available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
