Power disrupts after a vehicle knocks down a utility pole in Grand Rapids (Grand Rapids, MI)

Power was disrupted after a vehicle took down a utility pole Saturday morning in Grand Rapids.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place along Breton between 32nd and 44th, in front of the Excel Academy. According to the reports, the incident left thousands of Grand Rapids residents without power. No one was injured as a result of the collision.

The area is blocked while crews clean up the scene and try to fix the pole. According to the Consumers Energy outage map, there are 2,076 impacted by the outage. The areas without power are 32nd to Shaffer, Shaffer to 44th and 44th over to Kalamazoo. No other details are available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
