Police Officer Injured In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Atlanta (Atlanta, GA)

The Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in Atlanta.

The officer was attempting to stop a Chevrolet Impala.

The Chevrolet driver slowed down and came to a stop on the left shoulder rather than turning to the right.

The shoulder was not wide enough for the whole car to move out of the lane.

A Hummer struck the officer as he attempted to approach the driver of the Chevrolet.

The Hummer’s driver allegedly attempted to pass vehicles in the second lane as they slowed down for the stop while initially in the HOV lane.

They were thrown from his motorcycle when the officer was struck, according to the police.

The officer was taken to the hospital.

The drivers’ and victim’s identities have not been made public.

No additional information available currently.
