According to the White House Police Department, a motor vehicle accident was reported on Tuesday.
The officials stated that a vehicle traveling east on Chowning Road at a high rate of speed attempted to make a turn at Owens Chapel Road when he hit the White House Police vehicle head-on.
The officials stated that the vehicle was driven by a 16-year-old.
The officials stated that an on-duty police officer was severely injured in the crash. He was rushed to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The 16-year-old driver was not injured in the crash.
WHPD Chief Brady later reported that the police officer was stable and released from the hospital.
The identity of the officer was not released by the officials.
