Pedestrian seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on the West side (San Antonio, TX)

On early Sunday morning, a man suffered serious injuries after being hit by an SUV while walking on the street on the West side.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run collision was reported shortly after 4:00 a.m. in the 3300 block of Poplar Street. Once officers arrived, they found an injured man in his mid 30s who had been struck by a car. The man informed the officers that he had been walking northbound on Poplar Street near Dokes Drive when he got hit by what he thinks was a black Chevrolet Suburban.

He sustained serious bodily injury to his lower extremities and was rushed by EMS to University Hospital. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and left the scene after the collision. No further details were provided.

The incident remains under active review.
