A 24-year-old man from Shelbina died after being struck by a car on MO 168 about seven miles east of Palmyra, according to a preliminary online crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at 1:50 a.m. on September 10, 2026, the Patrol reported. A 2003 Toyota Camry Solara was traveling eastbound on MO 168 when it struck the pedestrian, according to the agency's report.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, the Patrol said.

Light drizzle was falling in the area at the time of the crash, according to weather data.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Troop B is handling the investigation into the crash, identified in state records as incident number 260386412.
