A pedestrian died after being struck by a semi truck on Interstate 70 eastbound in Saline County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at mile marker 62.0 at approximately 2:43 a.m. on Sept. 12, 2026, per a preliminary online crash report from the patrol's Troop A. A 2027 Freightliner Cascadia was traveling eastbound at the time of the incident, the report states.
The pedestrian, a 42-year-old man from Liberty, Missouri, suffered fatal injuries in the crash, the Highway Patrol said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were reported involved, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
