Pedestrian killed after a hit-and-run crash in Glendale; driver sought (Glendale, AZ)

On early Sunday, one person died after being hit by a vehicle in Glendale while the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the collision.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place near 59th and Montebello avenues at about 12:30 AM. The early reports showed that a dark GMC truck struck the pedestrian while the victim was crossing mid-block. The driver of the vehicle drove away from the scene. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the officials.

According to the authorities, the vehicle was travelling northbound on 59th Avenue and it was last seen escaping that way. Officials are working to identity the hit-and-run vehicle. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of the kin is notified. No further details were provided.

The incident remains under active review.
