On Sunday morning, one person sustained serious injuries after getting struck by a vehicle in Tustin.
The auto-pedestrian crash took place at 1:27 a.m. in the 1600 block of Barranca Parkway, east of Red Hill Avenue. The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle hit the pedestrian crossing Barranca Parkway outside the crosswalk. Once officers arrived, they found an adult male down in the westbound lanes. They rushed the man to OC Global Medical Center with critical injuries.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Officials believe that drugs or alcohol were not involved in the collision. All westbound lanes of Barranca Parkway between Aston Street and Red Hill Avenue were blocked as crews worked at the scene. No further details were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
