Pedestrian died after being struck by multiple vehicles on I-10 near Norman C. Francis Parkway (New Orleans, LA)

On Thursday night, one person was killed after an auto-pedestrian crash on I-10 near Norman C. Francis Parkway.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the crash scene at about 11:53 p.m. after getting reports of a traffic collision. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 when he hit a man attempting to cross the highway. After the initial collision, multiple other vehicles hit the pedestrian.

The man suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The man driving the pickup truck stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the officers. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin. The cause of death will be confirmed after an autopsy will be conducted.

An investigation continues.
