One person died after getting hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning in National City.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at about 8:20 a.m. on 24th Street. The early reports showed that the vehicle made a left turn from Highland Avenue onto 24th Street and struck the victim, who was in the crosswalk.
The pedestrian died as a result of the crash. The driver involved stayed at the scene for police questioning. DUI is not suspected in the crash. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other information is available.
The incident remains under review.
