Pedestrian dead after being hit by a dump truck near Scottsdale (Scottsdale, AZ)

On early Wednesday, one person died after being hit by a dump truck near Scottsdale.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the south loop 101 at milepost 37 in the area of Cactus Road moments before 4:30 AM after getting reports of auto-pedestrian collision. The early reports showed that a dump truck hit a pedestrian on the freeway.

According to the authorities, a Cadillac Escalade was parked on the shoulder nearby. It is unclear if the pedestrian died at the scene or at an area hospital. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of the kin is notified. No other information has been provided.

The incident remains under review.
