On Monday afternoon, one person was killed after getting struck by a vehicle in Elk Grove.
As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place at around 2:45 p.m. on Frye Creek Drive and Deepdale Way. Once responders arrived, they provided first aid to the victim but they died of their injuries at the scene.
The driver of the involved vehicle left the scene after the collision. Officers later found the vehicle and its driver and arrested the suspect. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are made available.
