Pedestrian dead after a hit-and-run collision in Bakersfield (Bakersfield, CA)

A pedestrian died after getting struck by a big rig Friday evening in Bakersfield.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run collision took place at about 8:30 p.m. on Niles Street and Fairfax Road. The early reports showed that a semi-truck fled the scene after hitting a pedestrian.

The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time. No information is available regarding the hit-and-run motorist. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No additional details are made available.
