One person killed after getting struck by a vehicle in North Austin (Austin, TX)

One person was killed after getting hit by a vehicle Tuesday night in North Austin.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place at 15200 North I-35 southbound, near Cheddar Loop Road, at about 7:37 p.m. The Austin-Travis County EMS received multiple 9-1-1 calls reported that a person had been struck by a vehicle on the highway.

On arrival, they declared the victim dead. The southbound I-35 at Grand Avenue Parkway will be shut down for several hours while crews work at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
