One person killed after a single-vehicle crash in Alpine (Alpine, CA)

On Saturday evening, one person was killed after a traffic accident in Alpine.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash was reported at 8:51 p.m. on the westbound Kumeyaay Highway at Tavern Road. An eyewitness informed the CHP that the vehicle hit the center divider, over-corrected, went back across the Kumeyaay I-8 Highway, and then ran off the roadway in Alpine.

The diver was declared deceased at the scene by the officials. The early reports indicated that the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time. No other details are available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
