One person killed after a fiery crash in south Travis County (Austin, TX)

One person was killed after a fiery crash early Saturday morning in south Travis County.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle accident took place near 10511 S. Hwy. 183. That is located near FM 1327 in south Travis County. ATCEMS crews actively responded to the crash scene after getting reports of a traffic collision just after 6 a.m. Saturday. The preliminary reports showed that a vehicle slammed into a tree and ignited a vehicle fire.

The crash caused extended road closures in the affected region. Officials urged motorists to avoid the area, or drive slowly if needing to pass through. Both directions of Hwy. 183 was shut down at FM 1327 in south Travis County while crews worked to clear the scene. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
