One person died after a hit-and-run accident in Tempe (Tempe, AZ)

One person was killed after getting hit by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Tempe.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run accident took place near McClintock and Hermosa drives. The preliminary reports showed that a vehicle was driving northbound when it struck a pedestrian crossing the street near McClintock and Hermosa drives.

On arrival, first responders rushed the pedestrian to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. An eyewitness said the vehicle fled the scene. Police believe the vehicle involved was a dark-colored sports car, possibly a Camaro or similar model. No other information is available.

The incident remains under active review.
