One person was killed following a traffic collision late Thursday morning in Galt.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle wreck took place at about 11:50 a.m. along the northbound side of Highway 99, close to Simmerhorn Road. The early reports showed that a semi-truck was one of the vehicles involved in the crash.
Authorities confirmed that the incident led to a fatality. It is unknown if the collision caused any other injuries. The far right lane was shut down while crews worked at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
