A crash at the intersection of eastbound US 36 and MO 33, about a mile north of Osborn, left one driver dead and another seriously injured on Sept. 8, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol's Troop H, which is investigating the crash under incident number 260384147, reported that a 2025 Jeep Compass was traveling southbound when it collided with a 2024 Kenworth Model T680 that was heading eastbound on US 36.

The driver of the Jeep, a 68-year-old man from Stewartsville, Missouri, sustained fatal injuries and was transported for medical treatment, the patrol said. The driver of the Kenworth, a 71-year-old man from Webster City, Iowa, suffered serious injuries and was also taken for medical care.

No additional details about the sequence of events leading to the collision have been released. The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
